Missed inguinoscrotal bladder hernia following herniorrhaphy: Diagnostic pitfalls and lessons from a rare case.

Abstract

Inguinoscrotal bladder hernia is a rare entity, accounting for 1-3 % of inguinal hernias, and often misdiagnosed as typical intestinal hernia. We report a 60-year-old man with prior herniorrhaphy who presented with persistent right inguinoscrotal swelling, which decreased after voiding. CT revealed bladder herniation with catheter balloon in the scrotum. The patient underwent testicular exploration, partial cystectomy, and hernia repair, with a favorable postoperative outcome. This case underscores the diagnostic challenges of bladder hernia and highlights the importance of preoperative imaging when inguinoscrotal swelling fluctuates with urination.
