Abstract
Late onset of shunts through atrial septal defect (ASD) closure devices is extremely rare and may be related to the reabsorption of polypropylene fabric. We report a case of a 57-year-old patient who, 6 years after the procedure to close the ASD, developed a significant shunt through the occluder and was treated with the implantation of three devices.
